I love the "Invisible Hand" metaphor, and I like to think of a real invisible hand, like Thing from The Addams Family only invisible. I imagine the invisible hand in the cookie jar, in my pocket, in any place an invisible hand might be found. I don't think this is what the author meant, but I can't help it.
