Taxes: Another Way the Government Puts a Wrench in the Works

My last post exposed one way in which government intervention mucks up the underlying economic market system.



The Conservative Cat has created a cute interactive game that tries to illustrate another way in which our dear Gov distorts the market. It's fund to play with it, so I recommend you try it out. Go to the yellow box midway down their page and follow instructions.

Even though the details may not be easy to follow and I haven't attempted to verify the accounting or the logic, it makes the essential point in a way that gives a good punch to the gut: The Tax Code leads to some unintended, mostly unwanted and occasionally downright dangerous distortions to the marketplace.
